MOT due? Use the Official VOSA Checklist

Avoid unnecessary retests and possible retest fees. Instead, download the official VT40 MOT Inspection Check List and carry out your own pre-checks.

Don’t rely on an MOT test to tell you about the condition of your classic. The official check list is easy to use and will help you focus on the key areas of concern.

There’s nothing worse than failing an MOT test for the sake of a wiper blade, bulb or other obvious item. Likewise, don’t have a car tested hoping the tester won’t spot a gaping hole in the sill or misaligned headlamps. Although most garages offer a discretionary free retest within two weeks, it’s better to take the pressure off yourself and allow as much time as possible to get your car ready to pass the test, first time.
