Issue 168 – on sale now!

The latest issue is now in the shops, full of buying, repairing and restoring. It’s a 180-page bumper issue, featuring the Official Beaulieu International Autojumble Show Guide.

This month we’ve honed in on the UK’s two most popular marques – MG and Triumph. Love ’em or loathe ’em, they form the backbone of our hobby. And with good reason – they include some cracking affordable classics, as we’ve set out to prove.

We’ve not only done this from our points of view or experiences, though – we’ve also called on the insights and opinions of the owners and experts who run and work on these cars regularly, giving you a rounded view on what ownership is truly like. A whopping 21 MG and Triumph models are featured, including rarities such as Vincent Hurricane and Findhorn MG.

We also include our first official Dr Sparks feature. Who’s he? He’s Dave, our very own electrical expert. He’s written industry training books and has almost more letters after his name than the CM team has grazed knuckles. And he owns an Austin A35.

Unlike other electrical experts, Dr Sparks is the only one you might find on your doorstep with a multimeter, ready to fix your electrical woes. That’s exactly what happened to one lucky reader following a posting for help on polarity reversal in our Forum pages. Dr Sparks is prepared to travel the country in order to help you keep your classic on the road. Got a gremlin? Call Dr Sparks!

Also in the issue are features on replacing front wings, fitting a brake master cylinder, fuel-starvation diagnostics and buying protective equipment. Our Product Test this month covers leather, vinyl and cloth interior cleaners, and includes a few surprises from some new kids on the block.

And lastly, you get the chance to chuckle at us and our efforts in our staff diaries section. This month is no exception as we’ve all been busy fixing, breaking and dreaming.
